Paul J. Connelly, L.E.P., Site Investigation Manager

Paul has over twenty-five (25) years experience in the environmental services industry as a field and laboratory technician, scientist, consultant, and supervising project manager.

He Is a Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) in the State of Connecticut. His primary field of professional expertise is in the performance, oversight, and verification of investigations and clean-ups pursuant to site closures under various formal soil and groundwater remediation programs and response actions in accordance with the Remediation Standard Regulations (the RSRs – Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies (RCSA) Sections 22a-133k through 22a-133k-3). He was an Environmental Project Scientist for Bird Environmental/YWC, an Asbestos Abatement Project Technician and as an Environmental Laboratory Chemist.

Paul has extensive experience in Connecticut Property Transfer Law and Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments (ESAs) (Several have been conducted on larger, environmentally complex industrial sites) and preparing verification report documents in iterative Conceptual Site Model (CSM) format with in-depth interpretation of environmental media quality data relative to the Remediation Standards Regulations. Has directed several Phase III ESAs and Remedial Actions ranging from underground storage tank (UST) closures to full-scale site Verifications under formal remediation programs administered by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CTDEEP).

His experiences also include extensive experience in environmental matrix sampling techniques for field investigations of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor, directing contractors for performance of soil test borings, groundwater monitoring well installations, exploratory test pits, remedial soil excavations, and UST removal and closures, well head testing for hydraulic conductivity estimations, aquifer modeling and mapping, hydro-geologic assessments for new housing subdivisions, soil vapor surveys, geophysical electro-magnetism (EM) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys, RCRA landfill inspections and on-site oversight for landfill closures, and as a wastewater treatment plant assistant operator.
